This is so something my son would do. Play "dumb" in an attempt to avoid something he doesn't like or agree with. Then, I'll have teacher/assistant insisting there is "something wrong with him." I asked him once why he does that and he said "adults are such a pain, it's just easier to pretend to be stupid."
