I've had a few of those moments since dd13 skipped 5th as well where I get teary thinking of how soon she'll be gone from our home. I think that I've adjusted but it is hard to believe that we've only got three more years before she'll graduate high school!

It does sound like your dd is a truly excellent candidate for a skip. My dd was in the same type of placement: accelerated/honors for everything in which it was available post skip but no major math acceleration beyond that. Beyond the honors math, the further option would have been subject acceleration, which she really didn't need beyond the one year grade up that happened naturally due to the skip.

Good luck. I hope that she enjoys her new placement. Middle school was really good for my dd13.
