I think it would definitely be worthwhile for you to apply. I read through some of your former posts and I think your DS and your family are exactly who the DYS program is designed to serve. The principal may know how to address the needs of most of the kids at your DSs school, but your DS's IQ is almost two standard deviations above the schools baseline student. This school has likely not seen many (if any) students as high as your son. I would say that your DS is still likely bored in his gifted school. Please don't be discouraged by their negativity. You should apply.
