Austin, does your little girl have any books memorized? Mine was like that and that's what she was doing, locking all those words in, but we didn't realize it until she was just shy of 2 when she would come along with a book and read it to you instead. It is very exhausting, and mine got up at 5 a.m. and DH traveled alot. I was at home with her full time. When I look at photos from back then, DD looks ecstatic and I look completely trashed.
Haven't you said your son is really musical? Maybe that's he would watch t.v. because all the kids shows have music in them. (or do I have you confused with someone else?)
I am not sure if she does or not. She does have favorites. And will say the same "words" on each page. Most of her speech is unintelligible, but she is using adjectives when we do understand her, ie "high kick" and "green book."
Your point about music and TV is a great one. Now that I think about it, Mr W's favorite show when he was younger was Hannah Montana and he sat through Wizard of Oz at 8 mos just raptly listening to it. He also liked American Idol and Dancing with the Stars. I do not recall any shows he liked that did not have music.

We are having traumatic flashbacks. Mr W just hammered us at that age. The WR was pretty "normal" up until a few weeks ago. Now she is acing the shape sorters and 20-40 piece puzzles and her book focus is WAY more than Mr W's.
Since this is about pre-school, we put her at a home-school preschool - she is one of four kids her age right now and loves it.
