We have our kids' names into the lottery for a local STEM charter school (K-10 this year, will be K-11 next, then K-12 the year after). They test the kids frequently through the year and send the kids to whatever grade class is appropriate for each subject.

ETA: I guess I am not very helpful, lol! The parents of the kids who go there seem to love the place, though.
