We are enjoying Glencoe World History. It has videos that add to the textbook presentation, available on a CD that also contains the complete content of the textbook and workbooks, plus a complete audiorecording of the text. It's loaded with pictures, maps, cartograms etc. too, and has a supporting website. Total cost for our like-new textbook and new CD was around fifty dollars US.

That is a text that covers from prehistory up through modern times. It does cover the events you mention, but not as in-depth as a more focused volume. I noticed that there's also a "Glencoe World History: Modern Times" that looks good. I don't recall if there's a CD offered for that one, but it's likely.
