But when I have heard people (usually musicians, occasionally dancers) rave about it - music schools in the UK sometimes offer it rather routinely - it seems to have been as much for its "quiet the mind", "focus on what's important" qualities as on what it does for excess muscle tension, which is why I thought about it in this context. Only an idea, though!
