if he is enjoying it, I'd let it go for a few weeks when he really starts full time. I put The Diva (4.5) in a private kinder because the cut off is November and her bday isn't until March. It's far more structured than her previous preschool, and it honestly seems more rigorous than Butter's (8) public kinder experience. I'm not sure if it's quite as stimulating as she will need, but the teachers assure me she does her work as directed, plays nicely, etc...between the new challenges of writing everyday and showing she CAN read and the increased socialization (which she ADORES) she is in 7th heaven right now.

I guess my point IS to stop looking for trouble, lol! But I DO still feel you have a right to a well thought out, written out plan of what exactly they are planning to do with your child.

PS-part of the reason I got fed up with our last school was it seemed like the focus on equality outweighed what was fair for individual students (namely mine ;)). Instead of encouraging students to work harder and be proud of their acheivement, we were encouraged to not talk about how easy reading (or anything else) might be for fear of hurting someone's feeling who might be struggling with that...

I get excited when the library lets me know my books are ready for pickup...
