Do you have sub test scores in your report? If not I would ask for them. If your son has motor issues that will have impacted some sub tests but not others. You might find that there is significant variation between subtests in a single section of the test.
It sounds like the psych you saw did not look as deeply as they should have, or give very thorough advice. It's good they sent you to an OT, but it would have helped if they had said why!
I think it would be worth your while to take your psych and OT reports to someone who really gets kids with such variable results. Probably in Australia that would be a developmental paed.
