DD loves Grid Perplexors as well. The reading level is too high for him, and it will be for some time. Maybe in January.

We've got a lot of uncertainty the variable d(readinglevel)/dt.
What reading level is expected of the Singapore 2A/B word problems? The word problems in the 2A workbook are at the upper level of what he can do, and he'll often ask for confirmation that he understood it before proceeding. Great for math, great for reading practice, not so great for "quiet activity." I'd probably get the word problems only if the reading level isn't that much beyond what's in the workbook.
