I thought you might be interested in this white paper by Deborah Ruf on extended IQ scoring using the SB5, even though I know your son took the WISC-IV. It makes for interesting reading, and on the bottom of page 7 there is a range comparison between the SB5 and the SB L-M.

I believe that the SB5 and WISC-IV roughly hew to the same full scale IQ numbers, at least up to 145. I don't know the extent of the correspondence past that, especially because there are differences between the way EXIQ (extended IQ) is calculated on the SB5 and the way extended norms are calculated for the WISC-IV. I just thought you might like to see just how off the older, higher numbers can be compared to results from a more modern test.
