I wanted to follow up on this thread since my son is now in fourth grade and takes the advanced reading istation assessment each month. He is now scoring at an 8th grade reading level, so apparently jumped 2 grade levels in reading over the summer, or more likely there was a ceiling effect on his third grade scores. Or another option of course is that the test isn't all that accurate. Interestingly, his teacher said that the district isn't using the math istation anymore.
