As for testing....

In our state, MN, if you word the letter like this, you'll get testing....

"In our concern for our son's (NAME, grade, school, teacher) education we are requesting YOUR SCHOOL DISTRICT NAME HERE to complete a comprehensive educational evaluation for our child to see if he qualifies for special education services."

Most districts will deny the first time claiming s/he's performing at expected level in the general curriculum. Ours did. So, we called for a conciliation meeting. I had the PACER (state parent special education training center) advocate conference call in and advocate for Mite. They tested and VOILA we got an IQ score and identification for SPED services.

Of course, having gotten all of that opened a whole new can of worms...chuckle!
