    To add to my last post. Even though DS was uninterested in academic learning somehow he still went from reading at a kindergarten level to a second grade level. He made advances in other areas too but the reading is the easiest one to explain. When he finally started Kindergarten this year at a more challenging school he is just soaking everything up. For example, he's already advanced about an entire grade in reading in about 2 months. So don't worry he may slow down for a while but will most likely zoom ahead when he is ready to learn more again.

    Thank you all, the reassurance is good. Today we did a bit of maths and that was enough to set such a different tone for the day. Now I just have to keep it up! wink
