We are having a summer day (in the 80's) in California. We are just heading for the swimming pool.

I am a little jealous too! But at least I will get to fly off to Florida in a few weeks with oldest DS to visit his grandfather (my FIL). I hate these New England winters.

That's ok. I am always a little jealous during Christmas. I would love to have a white Christmas sometimes.

We LOVE the snow. As long as it's above 15F. And we like to x-c ski! But the pool is sounding mighty tempting today!

Teaching Textbooks (a math curriculum) isn't online, but it is computer-based. It also has a workbook/textbook to accompany the computer CDs. In our experience, their Math 7 program isn't really 7th grade math, but more like middle-elementary through middle school topics. It's worth a look at the table of contents (available at their website) and your child could also do a demo to see what it's like. I think they may have released Math 6 by now.

Our son isn't in school at all, but enjoys TT's products. He went through their Math 7 and is now in their Algebra I course.

Good luck advocating for your child, and I admire your tenacity and unwillingness to stand down until you acquire appropriate accommodation for him. :::clapping::::

Ok -- a week later! Thank you all for your kind words. I was proud of myself too -- before I went in I reminded myself that the kid is depending on *someone* to try, and that someone is me. No one else is going to do it. So I had to put my best effort forward. Feel free, Jamie, to steal one-liners to your heart's content!

Grin -- Ha, we actually went through our four points at the end of the meeting, first the principal, then me asking again and repeating them: LA every day in class, math enrichment, possible online math program, Iowa Acceleration Scale starting now. But I will send a note just to clarify, especially on the psychologist issue -- thanks for the idea. Maybe I'll have ex-h write it -- he was not at the meeting, but his fiancee was.

EPGY looks perfect; we may do the one through Stanford. Now to talk ex-h into the cash ... he's a grad student, so cash isn't exactly flowing. We'll see how he takes to that.

And (on a side note) Disney was great! Ds got to meet his secret lover-girl, Ariel the Little Mermaid. He was, to use the expression, happy as a clam! laugh Now we're back in the cold; when we landed, the local temperature was -2. Yuck!

His secret lover girl!! ROFLGAS- That means rolling on floor laughing grabbing at sides!!!!!!!!!!!

Mia, No disrespect to Stanford, but I'm not convinced EPGY is worth the $ at this point. I think there are way more cost effective ways to accomplish what you are trying to accomplish. Feel free to PM me and we can "talk".

Ariel!? That is so cute! Welcome back to winter.

I'm so impressed with what you've advocated for! Now for the school to follow through ... keep us posted!
