HEROES is a non-profit organization that is committed to promoting the educational, social and emotional development of profoundly gifted students. HEROES is currently planning its third annual conference which will be held on January 15-16 at Rutgers University and its second annual Writing Talent Search, which provides recognition and scholarships to profoundly gifted writers. Who: HEROES Members and their family
What: Swimming, ping pong, badminton, fun & games, BBQ, networking with other families. Also meet with representatives from HEROES, EIRC, Johns Hopkins SET, Rutgers and Monmouth Universities to find out about programs that may be suitable for your children.
Schedule of presentations by special guests:
1:00 � Maria Cotton, Director of National Talent Network, the Gifted and Talented Service of EIRC will provide information about programs for students to participate in research, model congress and other programs designed for the gifted and talented
2:00 � Dr. Michelle Muratori, Senior Counselor, Johns Hopkins Study of Exceptional Talent (SET) will answer questions regarding social and emotional issues related to meeting the needs of the profoundly gifted.
3:00 � Elizabeth Hough, Director of Summer/Winter Sessions, Rutgers University will provide information about opportunities at Rutgers for younger students who are ready for college level work
4:00 � Rita Ostrager, President & Founder of HEROES will provide information about competitions, classes, conferences and scholarships that HEROES is offering.
