    MAP math score?

    Hello. I'm new here. I have a 7 year old in first grade and it's been a struggle, behavior-wise. I've always known he was smart (superb sense of humor, excellent vocabulary, learns very quickly and retains so well), but unfortunately most of the focus this school year has been on his behavior.

    He just got spring MAP math results back and I'm wondering just how well he did. He, again is in 1st grade, and got a 217. I know this is high, but just how high is it? Thank you in advance for any info you can give me.

    A 217 for a 1st grader is off the chart >99th%. It's 99th% for 2nd grade. 89th% for 3rd. 65-66th% for 4th grade and 42-44th% for 5th graders.

    So he did better than >half of 4th graders!

    If you look in the other MAP threads, Inky provided links to download the norms report so you can look up the numbers yourself. 8-)
