This typing site has been mentioned before, I think... any successes with it and at what age did you do it?

We are having similar issues with writing - ds6 can write but he says it is difficult and it makes him feel bad when he has to write at school. frown Getting him to write anything is painful. I think I'm going to have to write out his 25 valentines if we want to get any sleep tonight.

Junior - you spelled out a scene that pretty much played out exactly at our house...my DS7 has dyspraxia and HATES handwriting. He really loves to "write" stories and all kinds of things but he just can not write down what comes out of his mouth...he ends up putting together these teeny tiny words that were not even close to what he was originally wanting to write. So I asked his OT at school (we homeschool and he gets drive in services for OT) and she told me not to focus on the writing and allow him to work at his pace while I scribe for him and she said that as he gets older he will need to learn typing skills because in her opinion his handwriting will never catch up with his brain....so we stopped the pushing/crying sessions that left me feeling drained and guilty and now I scribe and when it is a handwriting lesson (such as practicing writing letter skills) then he is required to write
