I have a general idea of my GRE and SAT scores, but not the exact #s. I know that I did better on the verbal part on both and I do recall that I got a nearly perfect score on the analytical section of the GRE, which I understand is no longer part of the GRE. That was my highest score, so I would probably do worse now without it.
Like kimck, I only took the SAT once (as well as the GRE, for that matter) and didn't do any of the test prep that seems so popular now a days, though.

Say it isn't so, Cricket! I LOVED that Analytical portion of the GRE.

I took the GRE too. No idea on my scores for that one either! I also do remember doing well on analytical.

Don't remember my GRE scores, but I remember my SAT scores.
You're not alone, Dottie!

I remember my scores - they are easy to remember since my SAT and GRE scores were identical. I remember wondering if that meant I didn't learn anything in college, or did it mean that I learned exactly the same amount of information in college as I did in high school. I also remember loving the "logic problem" section of the GRE's and getting a really great score.

Though the actual number is now lost to time, I remember having scored really high on the analytical section of the GRE also, Cricket2. Figures what I was best at would be determined later to be unnecessary! See, I took it as telling us that the removal of that section is why the test no longer correlates so well with IQ. Mensa accepts old SAT and GRE scores for proof that you meet their admission stds, but they don't take the newer scores wherein the verbal analogies part of the SAT is gone or the analytical section of the GRE is gone. Perhaps that is why we all remember scoring so well on the parts that correlate better with IQ given that there is some heritability aspect to IQ and we are all parents of gifted kids.

I really loved the analytical section as well!:)
BTW: DS8 took the Explore. He was comfortable going in, and comfortable coming up. He told me that he had to do a square root and his little calculator didn't have it, so the proctor let him borrow someone's just for that problem. Now he knows squares.:P
Anyways, thanks for all the commentary and discussions. I'm really glad that he did not find it overly stressful.

OK, I know this is so speculative but... DS in 3rd took the EXPLORE test for the first time. I asked him how he did and he said he got most of it right in all the sections, but missed anwsering 4 questions on science.
Normally, I have found his judgement in what information he knows to be accurate. (Except for rules in games. So maybe I should doubt more than I do?)
Can this really be close to true for a HG kid this young?

Sure, it's possible. I guess time will tell.
I wouldn't recommend making yourself crazy over it though. You'll know when the scores are in, right? And the fact is that you already know he's one heck of a smart cookie.

yeah, I'm being a little silly. It also occurred to me he got some wrong on each of the practice test. Yes he has a little ego. I think this strong belief in himself makes him more successful.
It's ok I can wait.
