I hear you on being upset at what the ped said. I didn't realize how rare it was for them to see children like ours. At our 2 year appointment our ped was blown away by the things DD was doing, said she was on a 4 year old level and proceeded to start talking about me needing to make special arrangements educationally for her, then we moved and I was nervouse about a new ped. Knowing he wouldn't have recieved our records yet I wrote up a milestone lists and all the things DD was currently doing, which he said is on a 5-6 year old level. I was thankful that that day she was showing her self because he was able to see it. Especially when she looked at him and informed him "I am going to be a doctor too when I grow up. I am going to be an orthopedic surgeon." LMAO. His face was priceles. Although I then was also told our school system would absolutyly not work for DD.
I would definitly start checking into schools. I already have hear. As someone said, imagine your child having to sit through learning letter sounds at 5 and 1/2. DD would never stand for it, she is definitly not a people pleaser.
