It was great....today at the library DD made friends with a 6 year old boy. He was held up in the little house and had built a door with blocks. She asked him "what are you doing in there." and he told her "I'm reading a star wars book. You want to come in with me." She said yes, so he moves some blocks so she could get in and then closed it back up LOL. Then later he said "You want to come play a computer game with me?" Of course she did and so they played and played and played. It was awsome to see her interacting with a child on her level, a peer, even though not an agemate. She was so happy. We stayed an extra hour so they could play. His mom is an assistant children's librarian at our library so she knows DD and she said it was awsome to watch my DD keep pace with a 6 year old ike that, and that it made since she is on a kindy level. I think we will set up some more times for them to play. smile

That's awesome. Good for your daughter - finding peers is tough! I don't know why, but the thing with the blocks is hilarious and very cute. Kudos to the boy for not being bothered about playing with a kid so much younger, too.

That's so cool! We've really been struggling with that lately. DD REALLY wants to interact with other kids but they all seem scared of her. frown

That's SO cool that she found a friend to play with! It's hard to watch them struggle so much to find friends.

that is great! My DD actually doesn't mind playing in a babyish way--jumping up and down, making weird noises, running around, just being very silly--so she can be friends with kids her age and even younger, but then when she wants conversation or to do more elaborate pretend play, she turns to adults. I want a friend for her too. Good luck. It is tiring being their primary playmate :-)
