If you go to
Hewitt's Physics there are a couple of emails you can write to and ask for an inspection copy. Publishers often send out inspection copies for free for 30-60 days. You can then look them over and decide if you want them. If not, you just send them back within the allowed time frame.
Hewitt's videos and labs are good too, although some videos seem a bit dated. (But then again, there aren't many good physics videos out there anyway.)
