Hi all, I just want to share some exciting news. We just got back from CTY Award Ceremony in our area. Our DS received High Honors for both Verbal and Quantitative as well as Top in Country Award for Quantitative!
We knew he scored 100% (50/50, >99%tile) on his math, but we did not expect or know about this award, so it was a wonderful surprise.
It was really nice to see him really enjoying more individual attention for his achievement. (There was only one other kid from his grade level in the ceremony.)

    Anyway, thank you for listening!

Fabulous! Thanks for sharing the good news. Sounds like you've been successful at developing his talent. Any words of wisdom to share about that? smile

    Thank you everyone!

Oh, I wish I could get some credit for his achievement, but... Honestly, he is just self-driven when it comes to math. Math is not a school subject for him. It's his passion in life. He sees math/numbesr as beautiful language (He also thinks symbolic logic is fascinating.) and he's got this innate urge to know and experience it.
I'm just making sure that his burning passion for math will keep burning. We don't do repetitious math worksheets, but we often discuss a variety of interesting math subjects.
He just got into DYS, so hopefully, they can provide me with more info in the talent development.
