Hi.. so, you did both IQ and achievement tests done last year? If she has been pushed further by the school, then her achievement might be higher a year later (whenever that is), but also being careful that she is not burned out. I think if I were you I'd look into at some point restesting achievement since you already have YSP qualifying scores.

I know that some gifted kids thrive in the non-academic setting of Waldorf schools, while others just suffer there.

Can you take a tour of the school?

Just FYI, this is not a Waldorf school. I have a good friend who sends her children to Waldorf and I don't think Waldorf would be a good fit for her personality.

By non-academic, I guess I mean vs the very high powered privates here in the DC area, which is what most people think of when you say private school around here.

We looked very closely at our local Friends school. It's still on our list if we need to stop homeschooling for any reason. We know several families with MG+ kids that are very happy there. Our Friends school does a lot of hands on, open ended projects, community service, etc. Has small classes and very personalized attention from the looks of it. It looks very different than our local Waldorf school (which we toured once upon a time too).
