I wasn't given my son's FSIQ. In fact I was told by the tester that he couldn't give it to me. Is there a way to figure it out using the scaled score which is all that I have. I know he made the 2 SD above the norm to get into the gifted program I'd just like to know his FSIQ as well. Thanks.

    Hi Momma Bear,
Welcome! What kind of information are you hoping to get from the FSIQ? Hopefully Dottie will be along soon to be more specific.
Congrats on your school having a gifted program - will it be 'enough?'

Thanks for the quick response! I'm new to the forum and I don't know how to PM yet smile

It just says scaled score. The ones that go from 1-19 usually. I didn't get anything else other than he's 98th percentile overall and in the 2 SD range. Oh I did get some other percentile ranking as well. 99th in Verbal Subtets, 94 in Working Memory, 98 in Processing Speed and 84 in Percceptual. Does that help?

I'm just trying to double check as I'm waiting for my evaluator to call me back since the school board is questioning my independent evaluation because he got over 19 on a section. Right away I went into "Momma Bear" mode and tried to figure out the FSIQ to see if he would still meet their criteria with only 19 instead of 20 on Comprehension. Any help would be appreciated.

using the 20 his verbal scaled is 50, working memory 28, Processing Speed 28, & Perceptual 37. For our program we just need to be 2SD above the norm. So if his verbal is 49 with the one point difference I'm trying to figure out if he still makes the cut off. He's just made 6 if that makes a difference.

Thank you so much!!!! I was stressing on it waiting to get some kind of explanation! I've already found that this is something I will need to be very involved in to make sure he gets what he needs.

    Next fun... IEP

    THANKS AGAIN!
