I am not sure how many of you remember last year when DS6 was actually placed in a 1st grade class prior to the start of school even though we were denied the grade skip/early entrance request and once I called they told me that it was just a clerical error and he was supposed to be in Kindergarten.

We had an awful year (despite eventually splitting his day in the K and 1st grade) and got DS6 an official grade skip to 2nd for this year with acceleration to 4th in math. Today we received a postcard from his new teacher in the mail. It was a quick welcome to my class note but I didn't recognize the teacher's name. I just checked the school website and the teacher is not listed as a first or second grade teacher---she is a 3rd grade teacher. What are the odds of another clerical error??

The funny part is that DS6 is not even going to attend public school this year. We are sending him private. I have not notified the public school just in case our brand new school does not open and I want the official grade skip on the books in case we need to send him back to public for an reason...

HA---I am laughing because they fought so hard against the skip to 2nd--I can't imagine anyone just deciding to put him in 3rd and the clerical error thing is just too funny!

Yes kcab---I had thought of teacher movement but the website was updated on 8/19/09 and I did notice a few teachers moved...this is actually a brand new teacher to the school this year as well. I guess they could have just listed her for the wrong grade...

Thanks for sharing in my laughter smile

Quite interesting. Who knows what they were thinking.

Good luck with the private school. I hope all goes well for you.

Wow - it was bizarre when it happened the first time. But twice?

I hope the private school works out, but if not, I hope your DS gets in the grade you want him to be in!
