It is open enrollment and that works, in my opinion, since parents usually, like 95% of the time, know if their child is gifted.

The constraints of being a charter school dictate that policy but the individualized education philosophy remains and gifted children will thrive.

Is that based on something real, or just vague old assertions by Sylvia Rimm? In my experience there are a great many parents out there that think their children are gifted, when they're not. This is a big reason for the denial by school admins and teachers-- everyone's little Billy is gifted these days. Then you have the parents of truly gifted kids who are in denial, or who simply don't notice.

Any idea how many slots will taken up by children of the founders? That's not mandated by the charter school rules, is it? I don't see any information about this on the website.
