It's good that you have decided to homeschool. Then you have one less thing to worry about.
DS7 was very different from other kids since he was a few months old. When he was about 21 months, we knew back then we needed to somehow test him, but we had no idea and he was so unstable to test. After he went to school, he was a little better, but he could not sit still and again, he was unstable. Finally he turned 7, he is more mature now and has overcome some aspect of his asynchronous development. We tested him both IQ and achievement tests earlier this year. He did very well.
I would say if we tested him say half a year ago, he would not have gotten such a good score. His maturity has played a big part in this whole process.
I did not put him together with any gifted kids. I didn't even know how to find those kids. People who have met him usually do not forget him. Many people had made comments about how smart ds is. I usually just nod and smile, trying avoid questions. DS tends to play with older kids anyway, so he would play with older kids in school and on the playground.
