I'm sure that there is a post somewhere around here that goes into detail or at least lists the different GT/IQ tests that can be given to determine if a child is gifted or not, and if so, what level, but y'all (excuse the southern drawl) have encouraged me to begin pushing the system again with DS5, who is if nothing else, advanced for his age and among his peers, but unfortunately has a December birthday, meaning my state (GA) refuses to even consider meeting with us, let alone testing him for early entrance to school.

Anyway (ah yes, me the long-winded one), I'm looking for a list of tests (a link will be fine - I'm obviously anti-google today), and any positive or negative experiences you have had with your DC taking them. Also, if there is something that describes what the results mean for each test or what each test is evaluating, etc.

You know, when y'all have a moment of course.

    TIA!!!!

Here you go, for your reading pleasure

    http://www.hoagiesgifted.org/testing.htm

DS4 just took the SB-V and WIAT. Haven't gotten results back, but what worked best for him was that they weren't timed. He doesn't like timed things as they may him anxious. Good luck!
