Hi, I posted in another forum (Twice exceptional) about my ds6 with low PSI/WMI scores relatively to his FSQI and GAI.

I mean his PSI was 115, WMI was 120, but his GAI was well over 150.

I guess this really IS the norm! Looking through other posters and their tests scores, it seems that ALL the gifted kids have lower processing speeds and working memories.

So I am wondering WHO scores in the 99ths percentile on these indexes? Since someone must, right?

Were the FSIQ scores really much much higher on the WISC-III, which from what I understand did not factor the process speed as heavily?

    Just curious. Thanks.

It seems to me that most kids have lower WMI/PSI. I do know someone who hit nearly 150 in PSI though so they are out there!

I think I am looking at a pretty self-selecting group-- people concerned or confused enough about the results to post the details... people with children who are clearly very bright but mysteriously struggle, etc.

My son has a pretty high WMI, but a low PSI. These score got thrown out anyway and the GAI is high

I can't help but wonder what these high PSI/WMI kids are like. Must be nice!

Dottie, since you are the resident expert on tests-- how did the WISC-III differ in the way it factored processing speed and working memory?

    thanks.

I was glad I'd read here about those who had high GAI/low WMI & PSI results before DD was tested. Instead of freaking out eek, I could stay cool and hear the psych's explanation of the results cool .

Now things that the teacher pointed out as examples of DD not being gifted make more sense. They are things that seem related to PSI. If teachers are looking for all highs, it can be problematic when your child has the high low mix. crazy

Just went through my DS' testing and I don't see anything referring to either of those. Maybe that was the part that got tossed?

Sorry I can't recall: you had IQ testing? With the WISC?

Would you mind telling what you consider "lower?"
