On the bright side, I was at the school yesterday and spoke with his teacher for a brief moment. She was amazed at his scores, and is now seeing him in a different light, and starting to challenge him. He came home a very happy boy.

That's a good sign and supports your assessment that it's an issue of being under challenged. I ditto the advice to take your time and not get railroaded. When I said I'd take them up on their offer, I thought it was to pay for an IQ test. I'd probably pay for an independent IQ test with a psychologist who specializes in gifted children before deciding whether to go to a pediatric neurologist.

    Tall boys,
Chris 1234 posted a thread called "What sort of doctor to see." There is information about pediatric neurologists that may help you to decide.

I'd also pick up a copy of "Wrightslaw: From Emotions to Advocacy" tout de suite.

    Good luck!

I agree!! I refused to sign the paper the school gave me, till I had enough time to think about. After finding out that the school does not need a MD to Dx a disability. I'm rethinking all my avenues.

I think we will be taking my son to see a Psychologist, as the 1st step. I really like the school he is in, they just need some fine tuning. Hopefully, they will be receptive to the fine tuning.
