A while back, my son had gotten the following scores on a WISC IV.
    VCI-126
    PRI-110
    WM-123
    PSI-146
    GAI - 122
    FSIQ-132

There seems to be about a 10 point discrepancy between his GAI and his FSIQ. Is there any significance for having this discrepancy? Moreover, what would be a better indication of his abilities, FSIQ or GAI?

Welcome! Sorry that no one appears to have caught your earlier post.

FSIQ is usually considered the most robust predictor of academic abilities, however, I would agree that the striking personal strength in PSI suggests that his actual reasoning ability is more likely to be represented by the GAI, which is moderately weaker than his FSIQ, though still a very respectable score. Typically, a strong PSI means that the learner is extremely efficient with previously learned and automatic skills, but not necessarily any quicker to acquire novel skills.

How is your DC doing now, a few years later? Do you still have IRL concerns?
