    I think that sunnydays70 was pointing out that a child who is actively seeking a grade skip (or some other former of academic challenge) should be listened to, not pushed back down.

    There are certainly people who think they would have been better off not being skipped, for a variety of reasons, of course.

    I saw this in an earlier Summer70 post and I think it is spot on:
