    Hello everyone,

My son is going to be 3 in May of this year. We went to Children's Hospital back in Oct 2016 for testing. He was given the following tests:

    Vineland Adaptive
    Autism Diagnostic Observation
    Bayley Scales
    Berry - Bujenika

Diagnosis - IQ 145, mild/moderate ASD. Recommendation in home ABA. We just started the ABA. I am now beginning to look for schools for the future but am not coming across anything that might fit a child like him.

He began memorizing tv shows / songs by 9 or 10 months. By a year he was reading his entire alphabet, knew all his numbers and most shapes. He knew them all by 14 months and began reading the flash cards that went with each letter. Currently, he can read on a first and sometimes second grade level.

Any other parents with a similar child? Ideas on what school districts to look at? We are living in Boston right now but are open to Metrowest and other areas if the right school was there.

    Thank you!

    Welcome!

You might want to remove any identifying information from your post. For example, kiddos are typically referred to as DS (Dear Son) and DD (Dear Daughter). List of acronyms here.

For a child on the Autism Spectrum, you may benefit by becoming familiar with wrightslaw, and their book From Emotions to Advocacy.

Lastly, you may wish to see if your child's test results meet the criteria to apply for Davidson's Young Scholars (DYS) program, although he may be a bit young. This could be something to keep in mind for future.
