I wonder if this could be a useful option for educating gifted children? Anyone had any experience with them? I am talking to their local branch and will report back with more information. Let me know if there are any questions you would like me to ask them.

I don't believe they explicitly target gifted. As such I am not sure they are particularly trained in gifted. They are grades 6-12. So maybe I can accept less SEL.

I attended a couple of information sessions for a new one. I suggest specifically asking about gifted education; they will likely tell you that they work at the student's rate and can accommodate his depth, but I don't know how they will answer your gifted-specific questions. Some of that will depend on the teachers they hire. Look at their various locations and the faculty bios should be available. The faculty in your area may vary. They do not offer AP, but do offer Honors level.

The parents' reasons for considering the school varied widely!

I am still considering it for credit makeup if necessary, and am going to start talking to our counselor to permit the credit Transfer back to our school. My concern is that I believe we will need a teacher with certain training, and don't know if it will be a good match.

I know a girl and her bf who both attended. Both liked it. I think it is good for kids who need to work at their own speed. I would agree that a lot of it depends on the teachers, since it is all one on one.

I know someone who's very happy there but their kid isn't gifted.

They did not answer my question about gifted. Well, what marketing department wants to sell a product to only 1% of the population.

Also they don't want to teach Art of Problem Solving math curriculum. Sigh. If you want something done right, do it yourself. Though, my kids don't really accept their parents as teachers.
