Oh wow, I completely forgot about the Wayside School books- I LOVED those as a kid!

I have an insane amount of books on hold at the library now, they're going to hate me, lol. Thank you all for the suggestions, I can't wait to show them to him!

Oh my DS7 also thinks the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books are absolutely hilarious. He's read them a number of times. He's also enjoyed some of the Tales of the Wayside School books.

If your kids have an interest in science, a really fun series is "Andrew Lost" by J.C. Greenburg. He's a 10 yo kid with a 13 yo cousin and a very inventive uncle who go on wildly fantastic yet scientifically accurate adventures. We really loved them.

Also there is a series called "The Time Warp Trio" which is historically accurate, yet fantasy based. Fun!

DS6 has enjoyed the "Shadow Children" series by Margaret Haddix. Illegal third children in future police society. He's starting the second "Guardians of GaHoole" books now about owl kingdoms and adventures.
