Lepa, this is almost an aside, but I paid $350-400 to have a very good psychologist give my daughter the WISC last year. I can't remember exactly what it was for just the one test since I had 2 done the same day, but it wasn't nearly as much as $1k!

@Aufilia: Maybe I should shop around a bit more. I'm a bit guy shy because last year we opted to do the $200 testing through a school and didn't receive any observations/report (just numbers). The psychologist who did it was in the room with my son for 50 minutes- so she probably didn't have time to establish a rapport or to stop for a break when he started to freak out. She had another client waiting when my son was finished so I know she didn't budget more than an hour for the testing.

The psychologist we know quoted a price that was around $1,000 and included a couple of hours to establish rapport/take breaks and write up a complete report with recommendations. I assumed this was the cost of getting a full report but it does seem high. It would be much easier to stomach retesting if it cost less than $1,000. I'm going to shop around and see if we can get a more competitive price. Thank you!
