My DS7 took WISC-IV and he was tested by the school psych for grade acceleration.
I am trying to understand the scores to get an idea about his abilities and to plan his educational needs.
    Here are the results

    1. They're really high scores!
    2. He doesn't have any significant relative or normative weaknesses. (The 29 point difference between VCI and PSI is unlikely to be clinically significant, since PSI is in the Superior range; there is a point at which not-purely-cognitive factors become the difference in performance--such as how quickly you can turn the page.)

These are very similar to DDs scores (also tested at 7).

NorthernCardinal, I sent you a PM...

WOW, those reasoning scores combined with super-memory - killer combination!

If you also have/it's not too much trouble to obtain qualifying achievement scores, I would suggest taking a look at DYS.

Thanks aeh, ivy and Loy58 for the responses !
Yes, we have the KTEA - 2 test scores for 2nd and 3rd grade at 99.9 %.
I am considering DYS and looking for other options to challenge him.

Lots of potential in that noggin! Just a quick check - were those scores calculated with extended norms? It looks like your bright little kiddo could have hit some ceilings, so his actual scores could be even a little higher. (I'll defer to one of our board experts to explain what extended norms are. But maybe you already know).

Those are seriously high scores and wonderfully even. I'm glad you're thinking of DYS.

Welcome and wow, what a killer combination.
There are lots of threads, some very recent, debating pros and cons of grade acceleration and other means of challenging a litlle giftie, but in your case! it sounds like acceleration, possibly even radical acceleration, is definitely warranted.
Our kid had a similar FSIQ on one test but we're hesitating due to other factors (socio emotional issues such as anxiety and an offensively sceptical school psych). Are there other factors that make you hesitate?
