One thing I am puzzled about was the proctor last year quit the test because ds was taking too long.
Oh, that does NOT sound right...I believe that it is supposed to be an untimed test. Actually, DD9's biggest score jumps have usually come when she took quite some time answering some pretty challenging questions - so I'd be concerned that they failed to catch your DS's score jump.
blackcat - glad your DS's test actually was OK. It IS a little scary as a parent when you are caught by surprise that your DC was tested, since the schools do often treat them in a rather high-stakes fashion. With my DS, it is a bigger deal at this point, because he doesn't have a "testing track record" at the school, like DD does.
shifrbv - I am going to guess it may be more of an issue of the teacher not knowing how to recover the test, than an issue of the test data itself being not stored. Is there a Technology Director at the school? It really seems unfair to make a child repeat this test from scratch.
