Starting a new thread on the Plano Math Rocks Program for 2014. Our 3rd grade daughter got invititation to this.
Previously, there were questions on what the MAP scores cut off for Mathrocks were. I got a glance of these scores from one of the teachers.
2nd grade to 3rd grade - 231
3rd grade to 4th grade - 237
4th grade to 5th grade - 251
5th grade to 6th grade - 259
We are debating whether to change her school from Hickey Elementary (Rated-9) to Skaggs (Rated-7) as Skaggs has the MathRocks programs. Curious if others know about Skaggs and how they rate among the other PISD programs such as WordMasters etc.
Parents of other Mathrocks (or aspiring) kids, please share your comments on whether such programs are worth compared to the trouble of having the child change schools and go through the motion of making new friends.
