MAN, did we ever love Singapore-- that was the worst thing about leaving homeschooling for virtual school.

The way I understand it, the 5th grade EPGY course is not meant for a gifted 5th grader. A gifted 5th grader would be working several grades above that. If a gifted 5th grader did take the 5th grade EPGY course, I'd expect he or she would finish it within a few weeks and quickly move on to the 6th grade course, and so on. EPGY expects gifted kids to be completing more than one EPGY grade per year and move forward at whatever pace works for them. The kids taking the 5th grade EPGY course are more likely to be in the 2nd or 3rd grade working at a level that is commonly considered 5th grade for typical students or 4th grade material for advanced students. So the EPGY grade levels do NOT equate to the age/grade that a student should be taking that course.
