I ordered the Iowa Acceleration Scale Manual, 2nd ed, for discussion of acceleration with DS's principal. I reviewed it and realized I need these forms , and they only seem to come in expensive 10-packs. Anyone have one they would sell me? Let me know in PM and I'll be happy to buy it!

The principal seems to be interested in using the IAS Manual. (I went over it with her very briefly.) I think she views U of Iowa as a trusted source of data. Good news for me, since doing my back of the envelope calculations, using the sample forms from the IAS Manual he fits in the acceleration recommended category.

I never ordered forms either. I just used the sample forms, too. It would be nice to have some of the real forms though!

I was thinking of doing this, but also thinking that to get everyone on the (As yet not created) child study team on board, I wanted to look super-duper official!

How did the process go for you?

I didn't end up needing to do the IAS with the school. My DS got his gradeskip without it. But I may need it sometime in the future if things keep going the way they are...

I read on another board that if you call them and tell them you are a parent, they will sell you one form.

I've just been browsing the Iowa kit online. The forms, purchased separately, cost something like $70, and are marked "Do Not Copy." You might need to be a bit cautious about infringing the copywrite on these materials.
