Local stores are featuring less merchandise and wider aisles as the economy tightens in recent years. We find this also in the more limited selection of books available in every genre at the local bookstore.

For those learning another language who are interested in going beyond the curriculum material and self-selecting books to read in that language, here are a few possible sources which may be of interest when purchasing books to add to your collection:

    1) bilingual books, Spanish/English
    "Bilingual Books For Kids"

Who wouldn't want a tiny, readable, pocket-size book to take with them everywhere, to help them fill inevitable wait-times happily, patiently, and productively as they read the next few pages?

    2) mini books (Peru), some available in several languages
    Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, English
We find some of the English translations may utilize different phraseology, grammar, or word choice than one may be familiar with in American English. For some this may be seen as a rough translation, for others it may add to the charm of these mini books as the construction in the native language is revealed, and infrequently used words may send one to the dictionary and increase vocabulary. "Mini Books World"

    3) mini book (Germany), with titles in German, some in English. miniboox.de

These unique selections may make interesting gifts for your favorite bibliophiles. Please notice that not all titles are for children.

    Thanks for posting this!

I am always looking for a range of Spanish books for my 2 sons (some at their level and some for my husband to read to them!)

I order books in French from www.amazon.fr I don't speak Spanish, but there is www.amazon.es - I would order Spanish books from there. When ordering from Amazon in Europe, order a bunch of stuff at once - shipping one item ends up costing more than the item itself.

Helps if you can read the language, because the ordering instructions and options are all described in French on amazon.fr
