I recently learned that this test is scored on exact age and not by grade. My son was born early, has a late Aug birthday so he is being compared to all students his same age (7 years and one month when he took it), many or maybe even most of whom are actually 2nd graders, while he took the test in the beginning of 1st grade. How much do you think this would affect the scoring? We're talking a matter of 3 days - I feel like he should be more accurately compared with students 7 years and 0 months who are in the same grade. That school year seems like it would make a big difference to me and might make the difference of him being overlooked for these programs because he was just shy of the "mark". Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Well, the Cogat isn't an achievement test, so, in theory, additional schooling shouldn't alter the results.
