DS4.5 has been playing Minecraft for about a month. He's getting better, but enjoys watching Minecraft videos on YouTube to learn how to do different things.

Today, he built some trees after seeing how someone else did it!

Some of the videos, though, are made by adults and are far beyond what he can do right now. Sometimes, the language isn't the best. I'm not strict about swearing in our house, but I don't want him thinking that all the cool people who play Minecraft swear.

Last night, we happened upon a video that had a boy, maybe 8 or 9 in the corner narrating what he was doing and it was awesome. I think DS would really like to learn from someone younger like this. Of course, I have no idea how to find that particular video again.

Thought some of you might have suggestions for videos he could watch, or maybe someone has a child who does a video blog about it. I'd really like him to get some of the more basic things down. I mostly encourage him to play in creative mode, but he sometimes gives survival a try.

Looking for a channel that has a lot of videos.

    Thanks in advance!

Not a child, but acceptable language and general patter...
Paul Soares Jr. Survive and Thrive videos on YouTube

He starts at the beginning and builds from there. I think there are something like 78 videos.

Also, don't know if you want to go this route (and don't know your son's reading level), but my ds8 loves reading the Minecraft wiki to learn all of the intricacies of the potions, etc.:

I can't believe I'm answering a question about a video game! Funny how our kids lead us into new arenas.
