If the child's IQ & achievemetn scores all meet the DYS qualification criteria, how possible is child to be accepted by DYS without any portofolio?

I would certainly recommend that anyone with qualifying scores go ahead and apply. The worst thing that can happen is that they ask for more information.

I would guess that if the scores are just meeting the minimum scores on both counts, and the recommendation isn't super strong, then maybe they'd ask for more information. But that is just a guess.

We got in with just scores and no portfolio. The achievement score (broad math) just squeaked over the line at 148, but the FSIQ (with extended norms) was well over.

Qualifying scores should get your child in, unless there is a huge red flag on recommendation.

Thx for everyone's input. DD's test were done at 7. Her FSIQ is 147 with the extended GAI over 160. WIAT math is 160 while the reading and total composite are both below 99.9%. I am not sure if these scores are high enough to prove her qualified. Just wonder how much chance she has to get in the program.

Take this with a grain of salt because this is just my guess here, but the GAI and broad math scores are far enough beyond the bare minimum that I'd guess that she'd get in.

Thanks, Cricket2 & Dottie! You are always very helpful.
I have collected very few working samples for DD. I was afraid that they were not enough to be used for portofolio. It sounds like that I probably don't need to worry about portofolio.
