The title says it all. How do you find a qualified test administrator?

What part of the country are you in? People on this board can give recs

There is a limited list on Hoagies web site. You might also want to try checking out private school websites in your area, the ones around here list locations where you can have the IQ testing done for admissions.

Ideas:

1-google something like "educational psychologist [insert your metro area]"
2-If you have a state gifted association go on their website to see if they have a list, or contact them.
3-If you live near a larger university or can drive to one, a test like that could be given by a graduate student for a reduced fee.

Call them and ask if they give that test, that they have some solid experience with children of your child's age range, and only pursue if they sound like they really know what they're talking about.

A few other suggestions:

* Ask your school district gifted department or school's gifted staff rep.
* Ask your pediatrician
* Ask other parents
* Ask your school district to do the testing

I am in a small town in northern Alabama with very few resources. I am willing to travel to Atlanta (first choice) or Nashville for the testing. Any recommendations in those cities? Thank you.

Emory University conducts studies about early childhood development, etc. you could ask them if there is someone on their staff who does that testing.

Or, hopefully another poster who is familiar with those regional areas will recommend a specific tester. : - )
