My non-reader DS loves Babymouse books (and he's so boy-ish I was surprised he liked a pink book....sad, but true). There's a new series by the same authors called Squish (about an amoeba).

Also loved Nate the Great and Bad Kitty books....pictures are a big draw, apparently!

so we popped along to the book store today - went to 3 separate ones. All these books have to be ordered in and will take 6 - 9 weeks to get here. Gonna order them online rather. In the meantime he found some DK readers on star wars and others on rise of the guardians and a Horrid Henry book, which he says he wants to try again (he has 2 others that have not been read yet)

DS5 has become obsessed with the Spiderwick Chronicles. I think because the pages are small, with some illustrations, he has been happy to read them (and re-read). He got stuck on Zac Power books for a while - not exciting literary reads but boys adventure stories. I can't bag them out too much because they turned him into a 'read chapter books without many pictures by himself' boy.

Ok. I can get a kindle version called "three tales of my fathers dragon" which seems to be an anniversary compilation. I will get a sample for that. Thanks.

Do you know the online store The Book Depository? They ship free anywhere in the world.

I wish they carried used as well as new books, and their selection and prices are sometimes kind of eccentric, but it's a good way to get books not available locally, or ship them to people who are far away from me...
