    Great thread!

Does anyone have a recommendation for a human anatomy or cell biology book with lots of pictures and drawings that would describe terms like memory B cells, alveoli/oxygen/hemoglobin, diaphragm, arterial vs venous, diastole/systole, voltage gated, ligaments, etc. But child friendly looking, not dry college text.

Macaulay's "The Way We Work" is good for anatomy... Especially if you like his style in "The Way Things Work" etc.

For Earth Science, We've also used "The Way the Earth Works". We also have "Smithsonian Earth". Its more of a coffee table book and isn't really in depth but the sheer volume of material is nice for stoking your interest and the pictures are great.

Thanks, I'll look for that - I had only seen the Way Things Work one.
