Below are my DD's results from the WJ-III Achievement tests - scores are the National Percentile Rank:

    Total Achievement 98
    Broad Reading 94
    Broad Math 99
    Broad Written Language 97
    Academic Skills 98
    Academic Applications 92
    Academic Fluency 98
    Math Calc. Skills 99.8
    Written Expression 96
    Letter-Word Identification 96
    Reading Fluency 93
    Calculation 99
    Math Fluency 99
    Spelling 96
    Writing Fluency 94
    Passage Comprehension 73
    Applied Problems 93
    Writing Samples 88

All were Advanced scores except for Passage Conprehension = Average. Academic Skills, Letter-Word Identification, and Spelling were Very Advanced.

My question are - is there a chart that will put these scores into grade quilivencies?

The 99.8 in Math Calc. Skills was only Advanced not Very Advanced?

I've searched but can't find these answers. Thank you.

Hi, sorry we missed your question. I'm not too familiar with the WJ-III, but maybe someone here is. What age/grade was your DD when she took the test? Also, can you ask the person who tested your DD?

Abilene, I'm sure there is a chart somewhere online, but I don't have a link. Can you ask the person who administered the test to give you the full report? There is a standard report that is generated with the WJ-III which will give standard scores, percentiles, grade equivalents and a ton of other info for each subtest.

FWIW, I haven't found having the grade equivalents for this type of achievement test to be terribly useful. They are grade equivalents for a very limited set of specific skills. If you're looking for grade equivalents to advocate for acceleration, having an out-of-level achievement test or a test or work samples showing mastery of skills directly tied to your school district's grade level curriculum benchmarks.

I don't think that there's a chart that gives grade equivalents, because it depends on what age the child was when she took the test. You'll need to ask your tester to give you a full report with that information.
